I've had this old painting that I thought was of a president of the U.S. painted by a man named John Paul Chase dated 1943. I've tried a couple of times through the years to find out who this man might be. Just recently on the internet I finally found this web site and many more. And I now know that the picture is of the warden of Alcatraz prison from 1934-1948. I'm wanting to sell this painting. If interested please contact me at itsbarbinater@yahoo.com.

I knew John while he worked as a janitor at St. Joseph's. We talked a great deal. I always enjoyed his company. When I knew him he was a gentle man.
